History

1948: The Birth of Closed-Cell Foam Rubber

Founded in Nagata, Kobe—the heart of Japan’s rubber industry. Our journey began alongside the invention of "Closed-Cell Foam Rubber," a breakthrough that provided the lightness and cushioning essential for the birth of the flip-flop and the growth of Kobe’s footwear sector.

1948~: 70+ Years as a Material Specialist

Starting with rubber shoe production, we have spent over seven decades as a specialized manufacturer of outsoles. The proprietary blending techniques and manufacturing expertise accumulated over these years remain the core assets of our craftsmanship.

2010: Development of "Marshmallow®" Rubber

A major turning point arrived with the development of "Marshmallow®," a rubber engineered specifically for walking. By successfully combining shock absorption (low rebound) with propulsion (high rebound), it earned a reputation as "Magic Rubber" among medical institutions in Kobe, marking our entry into the healthcare field.

2014: Expanding into Medical Solutions

Following the success of "Marshmallow®," we established Kobe Sougu Seisakusho to manufacture custom medical insoles. In collaboration with doctors and physiotherapists, we developed "mysole®," which has supported the health of over 40,000 users as of September 2025.

2019: Founding Fujikoatsu Products & buntA

Witnessing widespread foot health issues—such as the loss of arches due to modern lifestyles—we founded Fujikoatsu Products to address these social challenges through the power of rubber. In 2020, we launched our lifestyle brand "buntA," centered on the health-focused "waraji sandal." Today, we continue to expand beyond footwear, creating diverse products.

Building upon our 80-year legacy of technical excellence, we remain committed to pushing the boundaries of material possibilities.
By listening closely to the unique visions of every individual and partner, we will continue to contribute to society through uncompromising quality and innovation.
